Overview

This is a story about two Annas. One was an actress with the landowner Schlichting. He did not let her go free, and the girl committed suicide. The second Anna lived with her old father, who was a caretaker at the rest home. Once, during the war, the capital's artists performed there. They heard Annushka singing and begged the old man to let his daughter go with them. She arrived in the village as an accomplished actress and found her father dying from a serious illness.
