Overview

Jacquitta A. McManus, the author of fantasy adventure children's books, is dedicated to writing and publishing adventure stories featuring black girls. Her writing journey began when she looked for books to read to her young daughter and noticed the underrepresentation of children of color in the genre. This led her to begin the Anyia series. A middle-grade book series featuring a young black girl determined to follow her dream of becoming a warrior. Challenged by her father, the Chief of Nagoran Village, and the traditions of her people, Anyia will discover her inner strength and the lost magic of her people.
