As We Were: A Dream Collection Novel:
Sloan lives a prosperous life in New York; she is a 'happy' successful lawyer and mother of her outstanding three-year-old. But the sudden decline of her mother's health has her rushing back to her small town, Rosewood, even though Sloan had sworn she would never return.
Rosewood is a small intimate town where everybody knows each other and each other's business. Sloan despised it. She thought fleeing the town was the best thing she'd ever done—but that was probably mostly because she was running away from her problems.
Now in town, things take a romantic turn when she runs into her old boyfriend, the father of her child—the child about who he knows nothing. Now a married man, Ian has seemingly moved on with his own life, but what happens when the sparks have rekindled, even though she is hell-bent on keeping their child a secret?

About the Author

As a child, I have always been fascinated with relationships. Growing up, I continued to understand the importance of familial and romantic relationships and how they help shape a person. At the same time, I wished I could see more of the relationships I saw around me in the media or books; black women and black men falling in love. But when I saw that there wasn’t much representation, I decided to create it myself.

My company was founded on the premise of sharing black ‘Happily Ever Afters.’ A wildly underrepresented reality that we rarely see on tv, not nearly enough in books, TV shows, or even movies. Stories that weren’t built upon toxicity or negative stereotypes, just two people–or several people, going through the motions of falling in love. And in that process, I share a deep part of me that believes in true love. Because it does exist, and it exists for all shades of people.
