Description: As CT and MRI are becoming more commonplace in veterinary medicine, it is important to have up-to-date references. The authors have done a great job of collecting high quality images to help equine practitioners use advanced imaging techniques and interpret them.
Purpose: The purpose is to help veterinarians and students better understand and interpret advanced imaging of the head as it becomes more common in everyday practice. This book could serve as an important resource because there is limited published on this subject, especially with high quality images.
Audience: The authors target an audience of veterinary students and equine practitioners, which is appropriate.
Features: This book reviews the anatomy of the equine head as seen with CT and MRI. The images are of great quality. They include labeling of many anatomical structures and color coding by body system, which is helpful.
Assessment: As a veterinarian, I find myself increasingly using advanced imaging techniques. To the best of my knowledge, until now, there hasn't been a book that reviews the anatomy of the equine head using CT images. This book will be valuable to anyone learning about advanced imaging modalities for this purpose.
