Description: This concise handbook is designed to be an audiology study guide for otolaryngology residents and practitioners studying for recertification. This book is organized by type of testing with new chapters on pediatric testing as well as AuD education. The first edition was published in 2010.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a guide to review audiology for residents and practitioners. This book will be helpful in preparation for examinations.
Audience: This is primarily geared towards otolaryngology residents studying for board examinations. However, it will also prove useful to practitioners who see otologic patients as well as those who will be studying for recertification examinations that test audiology. The authors are recognized authorities in audiology and audiology education.
Features: This book covers all aspects of audiological and vestibular testing. It also includes outstanding chapters on amplification and pediatric testing. This edition has been updated to include newer types of audiological testing and newer hearing aid technologies. The illustrations are clear and very helpful. The overall organization is excellent.
Assessment: There are only a few audiology books like this. This is the most up to date and complete. Because of the growth and advances in audiology recently, this updated edition is both welcome and necessary.
