The first edition was published in 1981.
Purpose: According to the authors, this book was written to reflect the dramatic changes that have taken place in the field of audiology during the past 20 years. Updates include information on the latest techniques for identifying and diagnosing hearing loss in infants and children, technologies and treatments for remediating hearing loss, protocols for managing children with hearing loss, and the latest legal regulations governing educational programs for children with hearing loss. In essence, this book allows one to learn about auditory disorders from legal, diagnostic, technological, remedial, educational, and social perspectives.
Audience: The book is designed to be used by students as well as practicing audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and pediatricians. This well-organized, up-to-date book is an excellent resource for all professionals involved in the remediation of children with auditory disorders.
