Autophagy for the Common Man
This is a book about diet and health. Autophagy is not well known among the average man, and after reading this book you will know more about it than most health care providers; never the less, it is the mechanism that allows your body to renew itself. I will admit it up front that I believe man was created. As we delve more into the human genome and the many biochemical interactions in the human body, the complexity continues to overwhelm medical science and many who study in this area just cannot accept the complexity of the human body evolved. It doesn't make any difference whether you think we came from aliens, a mixture of gods, or some belief in one of the many religions: it appears man was created. As such, it appears the human body was created to continually renew itself. One of the mechanisms is autophagy, or literally self-eating, in which used parts are replaced with new parts. It appears this process is tied in with your diet. In just the last hundred years we know our diet has gone amiss and now we have 40% of us with diabetes, prediabetes, and obesity. I have covered these topics in my previous books, Diabetes/Prediabetes/Obesity and The Ketogenic Diet for Beginners, as well as the upcoming book , The Maintenance Diet for Health: But in all autophagy keeps coming to the forefront as the mechanism designed to keep you in good health. It is not designed to get you to lose weight or treat some dietary illness, but rather is a basic homeostatic mechanism going on in the background all the time. We just want to encourage this activity. By the end of the book, I am almost sure you will change your ways in at least one respect.

About the Author

I may not be a real doctor and nothing I say here should be taken as medical advice. You would be crazy to change your life based upon what I may say. Wait! Disregard that last statement as some may consider that to be medical advice. I am going to rely on your common sense and present some information to you. Most is accepted, some of it may not be agreed upon by everyone, and some may be information and conclusions that I came to while writing and are difficult to prove. In any case, read with an open mind, use your on life experiences, and decide what your common sense tells you to do.
