Overview

Welcome to the Wandering Meadow, and the world of Zip, Zap, and Zup. Our friendly little family of ladybugs are all about adventures and learning. They might be small, but they are doing big things. Each Zip, Zap, and Zup book is a collection of three separate stories for your youngster, along with some bonus pages in the back.

In "Away We Go", Zap, Zippy, and Skippy are going everywhere and learning lots of important lessons. First, they venture into the "Dark Woods" and meet all sorts of new creatures, including bats and eagles, and they learn about being dizzy, courtesy of the helicopter leaves. In "Third Wing Engage", Skippy decides to test his flying skills on a very windy day, but the results are a bit disastrous. In "I'm Stuck on You", Zippy and Skippy let their sweet tooth get the better of them and learn the wisdom of obeying parents the hard way.

Zip, Zap, and Zup stories are intended for children, ages 4 through 8, though children of all ages love stories with a happy ending. Won't you come along with us? It's always more fun going on an adventure together.

About the Author

Phil Spencer has been telling stories since he was a young child. He believes that the stories we tell and the life events we share knit us together as a people, sharing the human experience. As the father of seven, home-schooled children living in Orlando, Florida, Phil has continued his story telling throughout the years, mixing in the occasional math lesson and science experiment between literary musings. He is pleased to note that none of the science experiments have leveled the house, to date. Spending thirty-five years as a technologist in the newspaper industry and working at such venerable institutions as The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, and The Orlando Sentinel, Phil has been surrounded by the continually unfolding drama of the world around us and fascinated by what drives people, both good and bad. He enjoys exploring these themes in a number of genres including children's books, historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction, and whimsy.
