From the outskirts of town, a horrific biped-like creature has begun wreaking havoc. Odd things are happening all over the place, and the damage is trickling down into the town. As sightings of the creature reach a frenzy, private eye Thomas Ungsten and his new apprentice, Eva Marsh, are commissioned by the town council to track down the creature's bloody trail.
