About the Author

Cheryl Greider Bradkin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and had an early introduction to the textiles of many cultures through her mother's collection of ethnic clothing. Cheryl received a degree in zoology from the University of California at Berkeley and worked as a biologist, with crafts always in progress. She began sewing Seminole patchwork in 1977 and found the technique successfully combined the precision of her scientific education with her love of color and fabric. She has taught workshops on Seminole patchwork in the U.S., Canada and Japan. Cheryl and her husband Bill have a daughter, Lisa, and live in Coupeville, Washington.
