About the Author

John White was born in 1943, in Gedling, Nottingham. He is married to Wendy and has one daughter, Kate. Before his retirement the only writing he had attempted was for his own amusement. After a full working life an interest was required to help fill the void. Because all the things he planned to do after retirement required physical effort, his wife, Wendy, suggested a more creative challenge, and something he clearly enjoyed, would be just the thing. He joined a local writers group, sought advice about his novel, Brook Breasting, and now finds the art of writing to be totally absorbing. His wife is the first person to review anything he produces, followed by the members of the writers group. Deciding from the outset to accept constructive criticism has been generally beneficial. Following on from his first published work, a novel entitled Brook Breasting; he now presents this compilation of short stories and the odd monologue.
