Author’s Notes Hello, fellow readers. My name is Mathew Mitchell as you already may know. I am eleven now and I first started writing this book in third grade with an extraordinary teacher named Ms. Venturini. She really motivated me to finish and publish this book. Now I am finishing up sixth grade and ready for summer to begin. I currently live on Staten Island, New York (GO YANKEES). Living in New York you are exposed to all sorts of culture differences and traditions. Most of my family is from Trinidad and Tobago which is one of the many cultures you see in New York. Being a New Yorker is a huge responsibility. I mean come on, of course it is since New York is “The Greatest City in the World.” New York has its high and lows though from the glamorous live of Broadway all the way down to some poverty stricken neighbors. That is what inspired me to write the book at such and young and ripe age. The fact that the youth of today need a push in the right direction. The main theme was that “Honesty is the best policy” and too stay true to yourselves. Remember from where you rose. The most important takeaway though is that friends and family can never be replaced and to cherish them because at the end of the day they are your support system. So guys remember these words and never forget who you are!
