About the Author

Dontez James is a published author of many novels and a working actor living in Hollywood, CA.
His acting credits include projects currently on HBO, Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
In 2022, Dontez became the face of the Lids "They Gave Us Game" campaign which highlights the great and historic American negro sports leagues.

James grew up in Ravenna, Ohio, but has spent much time in Akron where he went to college and Cleveland where he was born. Along his way to achieving great success, James drew motivation from the illness of his mother, the drive of his father, and the love for his family. He began writing poetry at the age of 12 as a way of emotional therapy whenever his family went through hard times.

My New Year's resolution is to read more self publish books because all the ones I've read have been a hit so far, including Beautiful Hue. The pros and style of writing was really easy to read without seeming infantile: it was not difficult to understand yet the writing was very poetic, and, at times, very dreamy.
