About the Author

A former Police Officer and retired career US Marshal tells you everything you need to know in the most comprehensive guide of its kind on the market.

This no frills, nuts and bolts manual was written by a veteran 30-year law enforcement officer with broad local and federal experience. He went through the hiring process of both; a local and federal agency. He started his career serving 10-years as a local police officer; patrolling on foot, motorcycle, police cruiser, and ultimately on horse mount. During his time as a ‘street cop’, he conducted hundreds of investigations and made hundreds of arrests for various violations, misdemeanors, and felonies. After 10 years of service, he left the local police department and became a Deputy US Marshal serving 20 years in federal law enforcement until his retirement in that capacity.

US Marshals are involved in virtually every federal law enforcement initiative. During his time as a Federal Marshal, the author enforced federal laws; seizing illegally obtained assets, provided protection for the US Attorneys, and the Federal Judiciary; which included ‘Special Assignments’ of personal protection for Supreme Court Justices; David Souter, Harry Blackmon, Sandra Day-O’Connor, Anthony Kennedy, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. He provided international protection in the United States for members of foreign governments during The United Nations General Assembly, in New York, NY, and was assigned to protect international athletes during the ‘1996 Atlanta Games’. The author also provided protection for federal witnesses while assigned to ‘The Witness Protection Program’. The author also participated in hundreds of investigations and arrests of state and federal fugitives during his 20 year career as a US Marshal.
