About The Author
Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist. Born in Massachusetts, Alcott was educated by her father but also received instruction from Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Fuller, all friends of Alcott's family.
