Overview

Best Short Stories is a collection of the stories my readers have deemed to be the best I have written thus far. Included are award winning stories from contests and magazines. Many of the stories were written for use as examples in my English classes when I was teaching. They make good examples for teaching writing concepts.
Mike Shocks the Boss is a story in which an innocent man is trying to convey his innocence. Al' Cafe won an award for a mock gothic style story. It was intended as the first of many and if I get good reviews may convert it into a novel. The Standard Teacher won a contest depicting the influence teachers have on their students. My Home is a description essay. Many of the other stories are Christmas Stories.

Stephen Weller is a retired English and Music teacher living in California. the only other Author is Carol B. Kennedy, his maternal grandmother, who penned a story about her eyesight during the second world war.
some of his stories were published using his middle name "James Tostevin."
