Overview

The origin of the book is a remarkable story worth mentioning. It is believed that life challenges can be transformed into an inspiring and hopeful story. Each experience in life is a lesson and a stage of development that can help individuals become stronger and more beautiful versions of themselves.

Before the author and her twin brother were born, they were deprived of their father's love, as he passed away before they could meet him. Even though they never had a chance to experience his love, his absence left a void in their lives, especially for their mother. She worked hard to provide for her three children and later, even for her second husband.

The book narrates a story of overcoming resentment due to neglect, finding a way out of a dark tunnel, and breaking free from toxic relationships. It emphasizes that holding on to faith in God and finding joy in simple things can lead to a fulfilling and wholesome life.

About the Author

I, Keona Annette Barnett, was born in Augusta, GA and raised in Athens, GA, where I worked in the health care field as a health administrator for patient care and safety operations. This book was inspired by me keeping a journal of my life as a young adult throughout parenthood. The most important message that I would like to send my readers is the importance of communication between family and friends. People go their whole lives dealing with trauma from adolescence to adulthood, falling short of becoming the ideal version of themselves because of the things they cannot let go of. They continue to drag that same trauma with them throughout their lives when it all could be resolved simply with just heart-to-heart conversations. I have mentored many kids and helped them overcome their struggles through puberty. I want to continue inspiring everyone who has given up hope because they don’t feel heard.
