About the Author

Writing is something Amanda has always been passionate about- going all the way back to when she was very little. She knew that wanted to write, but after she didn't make the creative writing team in high school, Amanda quickly gave up on the dream of being an author. It wasn't until law school that she even considered about writing again. In her First Amendment class, they had to write a paper of publishing quality, and her professor saw her passion for law, for fairness, and for writing. That professor is the reason she decided to try again.

After a lot of thought, Amanda decided she wanted to start with children's books because she wanted to be real with kids. No more telling kids to overcome their bullies by having magical kung-fu skills. Instead, Amanda wanted to show kids to stand up for themselves and what's right. After Aaron Makes Friends With His Bullies was received so well by my peers and children all over the country, she decided that the series needed to keep going. Thus, the ABCs of Friendship series was born. While we're still in the first few books, we can't wait to make it through the alphabet!
