Overview

In the past ten years, Terry E. Carter has established himself as a durable and authentic voice in American poetry. Through his writing, he offers insightful and spirited commentary on faith, culture, community and the Black Experience. In this fifth volume of Terry's Brown Skin book franchise. The reader is treated to a generous sampling of poems from the author's first four volumes, and a healthy collection of brand new work. The effect is akin to the notion of a bride's wedding finery "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue."

"Terry's poetry is amazingly diverse, ranging from epic odes to new-age haiku, and everything in between. If you like poetry and you're open to new ideas, you'll love what he has to say and how skillfully he says it." – Che'vonceil Echols, Ph.D, Author-Poet-Educator
