Overview

With faiths tested by triumph or defeat, the journey begins with the dying wish of one woman to leave her only nephew an inheritance. A recent college graduate, Logan Davenport, uncertain about his future, but with his whole life ahead of him, inherits ten million dollars from an aunt he didn’t know. Suddenly wealthier, he turns his back on his family and slams the door on his future, sending his mother to the edge of a nervous breakdown. On an odyssey of depravity and excess, numbing his pain with a growing dependency on drugs, Logan loses himself in the bustling nightlife of Los Angeles’ trendiest clubs. Inspired during a brief moment of lucidity, he has an epiphany and plans to invest what remains of his inheritance in a music store, Buddha Groove. After a half-hearted attempt to resurrect his life from ruin, he falls in deeper with an army of come-lately, new acquaintances, who take advantage of his generous nature, catapulting everyone around him into a vicious cycle of revenge.

About the Author

Mikall Branch-Lopez, a native Texan, spent several years in Los Angeles, where he attended the Stella Adler Theatrical Academy in Hollywood. After a short stint at acting, he returned to his true passion - writing. Returning home to Texas, he successfully attended Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University. Currently, he resides in Amarillo, Texas and is completing his next novel.

For those who are new to his work, he writes in two very different genres: murder drama mysteries as well as children's fantasy. As different as the two genres are, they have a common thread of being equally filled with suspense that captivates the reader from the very start.

In addition to being a published author and poet, he is a freelance journalist and contributes to several local and regional publications.

Mikall is also a proud member in good standing in the Texas Writer's League and the Panhandle Professional Writers Association as well as the Association for Library Service to Children and North Texas Book Festival.
