'Bye Willie - A Family Tale of Loyalty and Heartbreak

'Bye Willie is a true story of four children growing up near the railroad tracks in North Philadelphia in 1934. The story describes the love and unquestioned loyalty among the children of a large and close knit family. It describes the strength of family ties and the consequences of true and total loyalty when children do not understand the long term impact of their decisions. The story takes place during an era when there was no television, limited radio, very few cars and communities communicated by word of mouth, mostly just to the extent of their neighborhoods. The story of Willie and his three cousins is still told at family reunions and whenever relatives gather and reminiscence.
