[C] - One Hundred Paintings

Overview

[C] is a suite of 100 highly detailed oil paintings, created between 2019 and 2023. Each canvas measures 12"x12", and was executed using only two pigments (Titanium White and Ivory Black). The group can be viewed like a modern-day Tarot, each composition presenting a carefully considered harmony between illustration, allegory, and mystery. Archetypes embedded in their designs may evoke memories or trigger unexpected associations, inspiring viewers to journey through their own personal histories. Going beyond mere décor, the universal symbols of [C] provide a toolkit for building narratives and solutions, an array of metaphors which can be used for brainstorming, collaborative storytelling, conflict resolution, game play, and other forms of creative engagement.
