Cassidy St. Claire and The Fountain of Youth Part I
Cassidy St. Claire has known horror. At the age of five, while attending a secret meeting of weapons manufacturers and governments held beneath the Crystal Palace of Londons 1851 Great Exhibition, she saw her mother murdered by mercenaries. Not more than ten minutes later, her father was taken as well, shielding her from a grenade. Bloodied and broken, he died in her arms.

Now grown, the events of her past have steeled her into a dominating character. Cassidy took control of her father's weapons manufacturing business at the age of twenty-five and developed it into one of the Western world's foremost research organizations. She was at the forefront of transforming San Francisco from a frontier city to the glittering metropolis known as The Paris of the West. She's fraternized with royalty and peasants, warriors and brigands, thinkers and prophets. She has done more than live life; she has dominated it.

Still haunted by the ghosts of her childhood, Cassidy finds herself dragged into a world of secret societies, advanced technology, betrayal, and a war to determine the very direction of history. Racing against time and an enemy about whom she knows maddeningly little, Cassidy journeys across the continent on a quest to rescue her friends and attain the thing that she wants much more than she is willing to admit: the legendary fountain of youth.

About the Author

Alexandre Henri Rousseau was born a long time ago to the greatest parents in the world. After the end of his first marriage to a woman far more patient than he ever deserved, he moved from his native France to the Western United States where, for some reason, he got it in his head that he could write. You are looking at the end result of that idea.

Alexandre likes to pretend that he is a descendent of Jean Jacques Rousseau. Unfortunately, he is a descendent of someone who isn't Jean Jacques Rousseau.

Alexandre may or may not have a Ph.D; he doesn't like to talk about it. He thinks that people who refer to themselves as "doctor" while not actually doing any doctoring are assholes. In other news, he totally has a Ph.D which makes him smarter than you. He's so smart, he's even writing in the third person. Beat that.

Alexandre lives in the Western U.S. with his cats and girlfriend.
