About the Author

Born and raised in a loving and nurturing family in Southern California, including a handicapped father, gave me a great foundation. My dad was paralyzed from the time I was 6 months old and my brother was four at the time. He continued on as a civil engineer at a firm until his retirement. My mother’s life included taking care of him, my brother and myself, the house. My brother and I learned from them the necessity of being independent, working through high school and paying for our college. I became a middle and high school teacher, a career I thoroughly enjoyed. Along the way I met and married my husband and subsequently added our son to our family. He, too, valued education and has a career and family. As a family and extended family and friends we enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, going to the beach and lakes. Upon my 30 year retirement from education my husband and I left the wondrous state of California and followed our son to Idaho. We love to be around his family and share holidays together. The transition from sunny Southern California to the four seasons of Idaho wasn’t too difficult. We learned to shovel snow and the wonders of ice melt!
