Overview

As its name suggests, Chico & the Gypsies... & Friends sees the hugely popular flamenco band join forces with a whole host of largely French star names for their fifth studio album. Alongside collaborations with pop veterans Gerard Lenorman ("Vous les Femmes"), Nana Mouskouri ("Volare"), and Charles Aznavour ("T'Espero"), there are also guest appearances from more contemporary acts such as Collectif Metisse ("Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood"), Big Ali ("Baila Baila Morena"), and Lucenzo (on a cover of "Bamboleo," the biggest hit from founder Jahloul "Chico" Bouchikhi's former outfit, the Gipsy Kings). ~ Jon O'Brien
