About the Author

Kathleen Davidson is a Speech/Language Pathologist who holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in speech science. For over 40 years, she has worked in schools supporting children with special needs. She has helped children learn to use their communication skills to understand and connect to others. The spark for this story grew from seeing the amazing way children intuitively connect to pets who can help them navigate situations. Kathleen invites you to join her pet "Chow" as he tries to make sense of the complex emotions of friendship, change and trust. Kathleen supports many causes through her volunteer work, including the local food pantry garden, literacy volunteers and town outreach programs. Her love of animals has led her to donate a portion of the proceeds of this book to a local animal shelter. Kathleen was born and raised as a city girl in New York. Years ago, she happily made the move to a small town. She now enjoys living in a lovely, shoreline Connecticut town with her husband and their two, very spoiled, Shih Tzu rescues.

Frank Carroll is an artist who focuses on exploring the visual and emotional connections between painting and music. The different sounds, and styles of musical creativity affect the way he paints. Frank has a lifelong pursuit of conveying structure, color, and soul of the music he paints. His belief is that a song, album, or style of music could be brought to a visual medium, and can be felt and understood. His work not only sets the tone and visual of the painting, but adds dimension and depth through acrylic layers above the canvas, further delving into bringing a tangible connection to a sonic world. He also loves illustrating children's books!
