While fans of John Anderson will undoubtedly enjoy Christmas Time, listeners seeking anything more than a standard country holiday record will be disappointed; despite solid instrumental backing from the likes of steel guitarist Paul Franklin and fiddler Joe Spivey, the album's renditions of familiar songs like "Blue Christmas," "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Winter Wonderland" simply aren't memorable, with only the title track (the lone original) possessing any genuine verve. ~ Jason Ankeny
