"CHURCH UNITED;CITIES IGNITED"
GOD HAS A PLAN
Our first thought was to call this book, the Unified Church, but I got to looking at definitions of both united and unified and they are completely different. United means to be joined together and to made into one where unified means to make into one and have capabilities of becoming one. So, unified is the process of becoming united as one. Why the process of becoming one? The simple fact is that the Church in its current state is not united up to this point. Some may believe that we are and I am sure that is most people's desire, but we are not one. The prayer of Jesus for his people and his Church was that we would all be one as the He and the Father were one. (John 17:11) One even defined in Webster's dictionary means no division and no separation. The same terminology as when the Lord looks at the marriage of two individuals and says; "They shall be one flesh". The Lord no longer looks at those as two separated individuals, but as one entity. So, the same it is for the Church in the Lord's eyes.
We are all called to be the Body of Christ. We are all called Christians and followers of the teaching of Christ. Ephesians 4: 4-6 says; "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, One Faith, and One Baptism." "There is One God and One Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in you all." That is really the first requirement and belief of the Unified Church. You should see the word One all over the place. I Corinthians 12 show this even more. "For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body." (13) "For the body is not one member, but many." (14)
"Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." (Matthew 6:10) A phrase found in the Lord's Prayer recited by Jesus in Matthew. What is the Kingdom of God on the earth? I submit to you a large portion of the Kingdom of God is the Church or is supposed to be found in the Church. The Kingdom of God is to be seen in the people of the Church. Jesus said; "A new commandment I give you that you love one another, by this will they know that you are my disciples when you have love one for another." (John 13:34) True love loves one another, forgives one another, and joining together by love. The will of God is salvation for all and unity that is supposed to be found in the Church. There is an excellent definition of the Kingdom and the Church on the earth found in I Peter 2:9. "You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an Holy Nation, a peculiar people that you give praises to Him that called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." We are people called and chosen from the Father to be separate from the world as "priests" of the Kingdom who are identified as our own separate Holy Nation. We are not Americans, or Russians, or Jews, or Italians, or Canadians, we are the Church; we are a Nation of priests and Kings Kids who make up the Kingdom of God here on earth.
