The beginning of sorrows is mentioned by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:4-8 (Mark 13:5-8). It is a period characterized by specific signs that indicate His return is near. These signs also cause an increase in pain and sorrow that the Bible likens to a woman as she goes through her pregnancy and is about to give birth.
The Rapture of the Church in and of itself will bring many circumstances of cataclysmic proportion. But these will be but a glimpse of what is about to unfold when God allows tribulation to come upon this Earth. These events will be like nothing the world has ever experienced, in the past or later in its future.
