Purpose: The purpose is to provide a comprehensive resource to be used in preparation for taking the CNL certification examination. Each chapter presents a key topic in the examination outline, which directly corresponds to the competencies expected of a CNL.
Audience: The intended audience is those who have completed a CNL program of study and are preparing to take the certification examination offered by the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC). However, the book is also helpful for faculty in a CNL program and students currently enrolled in such programs. Nursing faculty can use the book to ensure that their courses include the necessary elements on the examination or as a valuable resource in preparing a certification review course. CNL students will find the book helpful during their course of study as an adjunct to their course work. The contributing authors come from a variety of CNL backgrounds with unique experience.
