Clovis
Clovis is a thoughtful and artistic crocodile. Although his siblings love rough, rowdy sports, they aren't his style. Clovis enjoys his own company while painting, dancing, and making music. Being unique can sometimes be frustrating, so Clovis created a fun way to beat the blues. With his one-of-a-kind red kite, Clovis heads outside to escape, imagining himself waving goodbye to the sad times and waving hello to the happier ones.

About the Author

Celine Grey was born in Detroit and spent her childhood dancing, figure skating, and creating characters. Joining the cast of Disney on Ice at an early age, Grey performed for young audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Today, Grey’s work centers on storytelling, theatrical productions, and visual art instruction for children. As an artist, writer, and arts advocate, Celine has worked with children of all ages in the visual and performing arts for over two decades. Her first book, Clovis, tells the story of a boy born to perform. Inspired by a few of her fabulous students, Celine hopes Clovis will encourage readers of all ages to embrace their extra-ness, whatever form that takes. She earned a BA in Religious and Medieval Studies from the University of North Carolina and an MA in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Denver. In 2018, she was named Creative Leader of the Year by Steamboat Creates for her work with children in the arts. Celine lives with her family and their furry zen master, Martha Moon, in Colorado.
