Collisions Course
In 1984, a group of friends use a unique homework assignment to make a pact and bring themselves together again twenty years later. The only catch, no matter where you find yourself in 2004, you must come alone—leave the husband, wife, lover, and kids at home. Their idea? To recapture youthful abandon and embrace old friendships with no strings attached. To an 18 year old, the concept seems harmless enough, but an 18 year old has no way of knowing that a 38 year old is never alone. A 38 year old has baggage, has secrets and ghosts with names like Regret and If-I’d-Killed-You-When-I-Wanted-To-I’d-Be-Out-Of-Jail-By-Now: some secrets you take to the grave or they will put you there before you’re ready. Still, what 38 year old father of three, living in the Jersey burbs, whose 15 year marriage is suddenly lackluster, wouldn’t want to make a trip to Santa Barbara, CA to hook up with his high school sweetheart, if only to tempt fate? What 38 year old single mother, who isn’t having much luck at Singles Karaoke night, wouldn’t want to reconnect with her boyfriend from twenty years ago? In 2004, with clear disregard for common sense, a group of friends showed up at The El Encanto Hotel in Santa Barbara, CA for a reunion. And they all came alone…or so they thought. Collisions Course is proof that life is not only stranger than fiction, it makes a great novel. J.E. Anzalone was at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, CA in the early 80's when a reunion plan was set in motion. Part fiction, part reality...you decide what actually happened.

About the Author

J.E. Anzalone has been arrested, hit by a car, and held hostage at gunpoint. He was the lead singer of a heavy metal band in the ‘80s, a guitarist for a punk band in the ‘90s, and is a member of a well-known disco band that has sold over 100 million records worldwide. He played bingo with Cher in Des Moines, was pointedly rude to Pink at a party in Sydney—I’m really sorry Pink…I was drunk—and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2008 as part of the aforementioned disco group. He’s been a superhero and a 70’s icon, but he’s never written a novel. If you don’t count this one.
