Overview

The Prayer of Christians, also known as the Divine Office, is the official prayer of the Church. This companion to that prayer will help you attain the communion with God and with one another which is the gift of the Prayer of Christians.

Centered around the twin poles of Morning and Evening, the Divine Office brings together the entire Church in a common prayer of praise and thanksgiving using the divinely inspired psalms. The experience of oneness with the Church Universal is enhanced when the divine office is prayed aloud in common with fellow Christians in the parish Church.

The Companion to the "Prayer of Christians" provides a distinct focus for each psalm and connects the meaning of the psalm with our personal lives. The psalms make us more and more conscious of God's infinite power, wisdom, and love by singing God's majesty and providence. This Companion will help you understand the psalms and see their relevance to your daily life, and, with such a perspective, it will carry you through even the greatest trials with hope.
