Concepts for Living Teen: "Impartation: From Generation to Generation" (Summer 2015)
We often say that the God we serve is a right now God, and He is a right now God. He is not just a God of the past or a God of the future. He is a God of the now!
But this does not take away from the fact that God is also a generational God. He thinks in terms of generations. He thinks about more than just one generation. He thinks in terms of future generations.
Just read the Bible. It records the generations. It begins in the book of Genesis or the book of beginning. Genesis 5:1 actually says, "This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him." What follows is a long list of who begat who. The average Bible reader might think this is boring, meaningless and irrelevant. But it is not! God wants us to know how He thinks. He thinks generationally. He has been that way from day one, the day He created Adam.
