Confessions
"Our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee…"

Confessions was written early after Augustine's conversion to Christianity, and was intended to be a account of his experiences before and after conversion. In addition, it was also meant to be a dialog with God–from where Augustine derived the name of this book. The full range of Augustine's intellectual powers is evident in these pages as he blends devotional material along with narrative plot. In turn, Augustine produced one of the church's most famed works–the first of it's type in the genre of autobiography.

This electronic edition is based on the translation by J.G. Pilkington and features an active table of contents.

Confessions is part of The Fig Classic Series on Early Church Theology. To view more books in our catalog, visit us at fig-books.com.
