The beauty of contemporary African wise sayings is timeless in guiding our morals, and chastening our behaviours. But most importantly, imparting a sense of judgement to distinguish right from wrong, and truth from a lie. In Africa’s traditional society, such sayings stemmed from a rich source of elders who were custodians and grandmasters of wisdom; having undergone a school of humbling or inspiring experiences, and were happy to share the lessons learnt inform of sayings.
