Transitioning a 35 year career from Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance to Maple Syrup Producer, has brought new passion to my life and I am delighted to share that passion with You. My experience in industrial maintenance has been instrumental with actual production of Maple Syrup and even Booth Design and Setup but the new experience of making Confections, Perfecting and Writing Recipes and even interacting with Customers, has been a New and Exciting Adventure!

About the Author

Nace Taylor grew up in Bullitt County Kentucky. An avid Hunter and Fisherman who also loved playing Baseball and Football from Little League through North Bullitt High School. He also learned Carpentry from his Grandfather Archie Stivers not to mention the Hunting and Fishing Techniques!
Nace earned an Associate Degree in Electronics worked at several Factories, a Communications Company, Elevator Company, The United States Air Force as an Auto Flight Systems Specialist and The United States Postal Service as an Electronics Technician.
As his children Amanda Daniel and Justin grew up, Nace Video Taped Cheerleader Competition, putting it on Public Access TV for Amanda and all of the other Cheerleaders and Families, Coached Daniel and Justin in Pee Wee Baseball and attempted to be a decent Father!
Nace read an article in Kentucky Living Magazine in February of 2010 about Back Yard Sugaring and made the life changing decision to give it a try. Starting with 2 tap's, 5 gallons of Sap, a Turkey Fryer and a Roasting Pan, He spent 6 hours boiling sap, used a half tank of Propane, wound up with 12 ounces of Maple Syrup and acquired the Non Treatable Disease of Maple Madness!
Expanding his Tap Count every year, first to have more for himself then Family and Friends, Nace realized that he had a marketable commodity! The first year at the Farmers Market as a Home Produced and Processed Producer, Nace began to make Maple Candy and Maple Sugar and after a while added Maple Butter to the Offerings. The Thanksgiving after his Wife of 20 years Janice Sims Taylor had Passed away in 2016, it was just Nace and his son Daniel trying to decide "what to have for a non traditional feeling Thanksgiving meal". Nace spotted a frozen duck at the grocery and suggested Duck a L'orange. Daniel said that it sounded like a great idea! When it came time to make the Orange Sauce, Nace, of course, used Maple Sugar instead of White Sugar. With the First bite of what turned out to be an incredible meal, Daniel said " Oh, you did good Dad"! Nace took a bite and said" Oh my God..I've Got to bottle This"! Those were the last words spoken until there was Nothing left but a greasy plate and bones. That is where South 4 Farms Maple L'Orange was born and is now a staple in Many Homes across the Country! Nace proudly proclaims that he is "The Only Nut in The World That Bottles Maple L'Orange" and will soon add Maple Citrus Vinaigrette to his South 4 Farms Products! Enjoy these Unique Recipes!
