Overview

Counting Down Jazzy is a book about subtraction. Jazzy is a brown and white dog. She eats one of ten cupcakes to make nine. She eats one apple from nine to make eight. She continues to take away one until finally, she is down to one cat. What will she do with the Cat?

Counting Down Jazzy is a wonderful way to teach how to count or to count backward. The repetitive and rhyming scheme builds confidence in early readers. Beautiful photos converted to lifelike illustrations accompany the rhyming text.

About the Author

Sonja McGiboney, a native of Pennsylvania, obtained her degree in music from West Virginia University. After graduating, she married Dale and accompanied him on his twenty-five-year military career. She has two wonderful children, Rachel and Ryan, and a new grandson, Theo.
In 2015, Sonja and Dale adopted a puppy and named her Jazzy. It was only natural to document Jazzy's antics. After a year of pictures, the first book, "Growing Up Jazzy" was created. Jazzy is now the star of twenty concept books for children that combine beautiful photography with lyrical writing and rhyme.
Sonja continues to grow as a writer. Her book, Hide and Seek with Jazzy, won the 2022 Reader's Favorite Book Reviews and Award Contest. Her short story, I'm Going to Marry You One Day, won second place in the 2021 Chesapeake Bay Writers Gala contest. She hopes you enjoy reading Renovating for Revenge.
