Purpose: This book provides a concise summary of the latest disease screening, prevention, and management guidelines as promulgated by the leading professional, governmental, and international societies.
Audience: This is a book for every primary care clinician, policy maker, and legislator who requests policy changes and funding at the state and federal levels.
Features: The book is divided into three sections: screening. prevention, and management. Each section is further divided into chapters organized by organ systems in which relevant guidelines are available. Within each chapter, the guidelines are summarized in bullet format with the references listed. In this edition, there are 150 new guidelines and 30 guidelines updated to the most recent versions published. There are a number of tables and algorithms as appropriate. There are multiple appendixes covering such topics as the 10-year cardiac risk for men and women, 10-year stroke risk for men and women, blood pressure percentiles for age, immunization schedules, and a checklist for identifying autism in toddlers.
