Overview

While this budget-line disc with budget-level (lousy) packaging comes nowhere near telling Chic's full story, it does include all of the premier disco group's biggest hits, such as the Top Ten R&B singles "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)," "Le Freak," "I Want Your Love," "Good Times," and "Rebels Are We." There are several preferable compilations, such as The Very Best of Chic (Rhino, 2000) and the two-disc Definitive Groove Collection (Rhino, 2006). The presentation might look suspect, but the disc is legitimate, released via Rhino's Flashback division, and all of the recordings are the original versions. ~ Andy Kellman
