Overview

After the loss of her mother, young Jessie finds herself alone. Unable to confide in her dad, who consistently pushes her away to focus primarily on her two younger sisters, Emma and Eliza.

Jessie finds some relief though when she signs up for the school play, in hope of becoming the actress she and her mother dreamed she'd be. Jessie's dreams are put on hold when things at home become worse. But they can only push Jessie so far before she reaches her breaking point.

About the Author

Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Cara Ransom started writing at a very young age. Creating her first novel while still in middle school, she had a dream of one day becoming a published author. Cara continued to write and create stories and series as she grew up. Due to various trials of 2020, Cara finally got her chance when she published her first book, Elizabeth's Diary in late April. Quickly following the excitement of her first book, her second book, Lakestone Manor was later published in July.
