Overview

The author has long been fascinated by the stories of David, soldier, king; so powerful, yet so weak and vulnerable. His is the human story exemplified in the life of one man. As his story unfolds there are lessons to be found, he learns, he forgets. David's self-will runs riot followed by his deep repentance and a sense of forgiveness and relief. David becomes every man and every woman. When one looks at David's life and sees themselves, change can happen, and spiritual growth may occur. The author says, "When I read the life of David and then look in the mirror, I feel a sense of relief in knowing that there is hope for me too!"

About the Author

Gene Williams is a retired United Methodist minister. He continues to work as visitation pastor and who continues to enjoy studying the Scriptures and preaching the Gospel. One of his greatest hopes is to see church members develop a stronger spirituality.
Gene lives with his wife, Judy, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley on five acres and enjoys the breathtaking views to be found there. Gene also likes to read novels as well as Scripture. Among his favorite authors are William Barkley, Henry Nouwen, Mary Stewart and Mary Higgins Clark. In his spare time, Gene may be found tinkering with his Model “A” Ford and playing harmonica with a Blue Grass band, and occasionally a little fishing.
