Overview

It’s simple. If you come in contact with this virus most likely in seven days you’ll be dead. If you’re very, very unfortunate, you might linger for eight. This bug doesn’t just kill; it causes a hideous, painful death.

This isn’t a cruel fluke of nature. It is an intentionally created weapon, the very deadliest money can buy. A small extremist group provided the funding, the facilities, and the security for its development.

Like a normal virus, this one can be readily passed from host to host by direct contact. However, this killer can also live for weeks in a semi-dormant state, waiting for a chance touch of flesh. It can survive on several mediums, but it was designed to thrive on high quality paper, the kind used for American money. Think of mass panic when it becomes known that this horrendous plague could be alive on that twenty dollar bill in your pocket.

The testing is done. It is deadlier than expected.

The extremists are eager to use it. All that remains is to deliver it to the American Midwest; the virus will do the rest.

Toronto, Canada is their first stop. Entry into the U.S will be handled by a highly organized family of smugglers, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The smugglers have been very highly paid to bring in what they believe is a team of counterfeiters.

Years have been spent planning this operation. Every detail has been examined. Every obstacle has been identified and neutralized. All that can possible go wrong is some random anomaly, and that is very unlikely. So the terrorists believe.

Neither the terrorists nor the gang of smugglers have any way of knowing that the wild card in their deck is about to be ex-Marine Jack Chard.

Chard was middle-age when he finally met the love of his life. When an accident took her, he was left hollow, unwilling to live without her. Only a call for help from an old friend stops him from cashing out.

When their paths cross, what the smugglers see is an old man, someone who can be easily bullied and brushed aside.

They don’t understand that looks can be deceiving, with guns, knives, or fists, Jack Chard is a force.

He won’t run and he has nothing to lose.
