Overview

MOVE OVER MISS MARPLE, STEP ASIDE JESSICA FLETCHER—HERE COMES OLIVE SWENSEN, THE SEPTUAGENARIAN SLEUTH WITH AN ATTITUDE.

Her eyesight is fading, her memory’s shot, and she can’t hear a word you say--but that doesn’t stop Olive Swensen from taking on a bunch of homicidal South African terrorists, renegade Marine turncoats, and neo-Nazi skinheads in DEADLY REFUGE, a fast-paced novel loaded with thrills, laughs, and surprises, by Howard Gimple.
When Olive’s photographer daughter, Hannah, returns home bruised and bloodied after being viciously attacked at a photo shoot on the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, mother and daughter return to the scene of the crime and wind up in the middle of an international conspiracy of smuggling and murder. They team up with wise-cracking U.S. Customs Special Agent Jack Lager, and through a series of sometimes harrowing, sometimes hilarious events, Hannah, Jack and Olive wind up battling a gang of wanton killers to save the Refuge.
