DESTINAZIONE CERVELLO (1987) Come in Viaggio allucinante, il romanzo tratto dal film, in cui descrive il percorso di un sottomarino miniaturizzato all'interno del corpo umano, anche qui Isaac Asimov ci pone di fronte a un problema quasi impossibile non solo per la fisica, ma anche per la biologia. Viaggiare nell'infinitamente piccolo e avvicinarsi addirittura al cervello dell'uomo: un'impresa assurda che poteva riuscire solo a lui. Ma mentre per il primo libro, scrive lo stesso Asimov, "seguii la trama esistente con la maggiore aderenza possibile, limitandomi a cambiare parecchie incongruenze scientifiche macroscopiche, quando si presentò l'occasione di scrivere un altro romanzo sullo stesso argomento accettai, ma a condizione di farlo interamente a modo mio. Nel bene e nel male, questo romanzo è mio".
