Materials

• Universal Yarn Universe (fingering weight; 42% linen/41% cotton/9% glitter/8% polyamide; 246 yds/50g per ball): 4 balls candy #10-06

• Size 5 (3.75 mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge


Gauge

17 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches/10cm in Diamond Lace pat.

To save time, take time to check gauge.


Pattern Stitch

Note: A chart is provided for those preferring to work pat st from a chart.

Diamond Lace (multiple of 8 sts + 20)

Row 1: K5, (k3tog leaving sts knit tog on LH needle, yo, knit the same 3 sts tog) in next 3 sts, *k2, yo, ssk, k1, (k3tog leaving sts knit tog on LH needle, yo, knit the same 3 sts tog) in next 3 sts; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.

Row 3: K8, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.

Row 5: K7, k2tog, *yo, k3, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog; rep from * to last 11 sts, yo, k3, yo, ssk, k6.

Row 7: *K5, yo, k3tog, yo; rep from * to last 4 sts, yo, k4.

Row 9: K6, yo, ssk, *k1, (k3tog leaving sts knit tog on LH needle, yo, knit the same 3 sts tog) in next 3 sts, k2, yo, ssk; rep from * to last 12 sts, k1, (k3tog leaving sts knit tog on LH needle, yo, knit the same 3 sts tog) in next 3 sts, k1, k2tog, yo, k5.
