Overview

The Early twenty first century was a time of great social upheaval and change. The failed political and economic policies that promoted globalization, trickle-down economics and social re-engineering resulted in massive economic instability and social unrest across the globe. Adding to the chaos, mother nature began rebelling against the decades of abuse heaped on her by humans.

The social entropy, its pitfalls and the dangers of the failed economic and political systems are exposed in this fictional novel that examines the lives and trials of three teenage girls and their families belonging to different socio-economic groups. While the characters are fictional, their experiences are based on true life events of real people. How will their choices and life experiences shape their future?

The book explores the impact of the social upheaval and unrest in a microcosm of the San Francisco East Bay. The comfort and opulence enjoyed by the upper crust are threatened by the beginnings of a new social order. How will it all turn out? Read on to find out.

About the Author

Gee Bee's love for books and the printed word developed from the time he was a little kid being read to by his doting parents, who encouraged their children to become independent voracious readers at the earliest opportunity. He loved using his imagination to dream up stories that he shared with his siblings and buddies as they huddled in their cramped playhouse. Gee was fascinated by the creativity and inventiveness of the sci-fi and detective genres, the adventures and challenges of the explorers, the awesome power of the mythical monsters, and the selflessness of the heroes that subdued and conquered evil.

The transition from avid reader to budding writer took many decades since much of his life was filled with the mundane pursuit of knowledge in the realm of science, technology and medicine. However, he never forgot his early passion for reading and the unbridled imagination it spurred. It inspired him to share his experiences with the world, in the form of the written word, with a hope that it would revive people's love for reading, increase their awareness, and spur his audience into action to combat the many social inequities prevalent in modern society.
