About the Author

Paul Crenshaw is associate professor of art history at Providence College. His specialty is Dutch Art of the seventeenth century and he has held lecturing and research positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Frick Art Reference Library in New York.
Rebecca Tucker received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University and writes in the field of Early Modern art and patronage. She is assistant professor of art history at Colorado College.
