Divine Energy: The Orthodox Path to Christian Victory
Jesus Christ promised His followers, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). But many contemporary Christians struggle with the "more abundantly" part. Having placed their faith in Christ, they wait for their lives to change--and too often they wait in vain. Fr. Jon Braun explains in simple, basic terms the ancient Church's understanding of what Christians need to do to access divine energy and achieve the victory over sin we all long for.

About the Author

Fr. Jon grew up in California, the son of a Presbyterian minister. Christian ministry was the only vocation he ever considered, even from early childhood. He attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, with a Master of Divinity degree.
Fr. Jon began his ministry with youth in Campus Crusade for Christ, where he became acquainted with a number of men who would be his companions in a remarkable twenty-year journey to the historic Orthodox Church. As an Orthodox priest, he served in the Department of Campus Ministry of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese, in its Department of Missions and Evangelism, and finally as the founding pastor of St. Anthony Orthodox Church in San Diego, California. He is now retired in Goleta, California. He and his wife have been married for some sixty-two years and have five children, sixteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
