Overview

This is the original Divorce in Missouri that has received state-wide praise from judges, lawyers, clients and the Missouri Bar Magazine. Now completely updated with all the latest information. Don t be fooled by a book that copied the Divorce in Missouri title, but does not come close to delivering the quality of detailed, user friendly information that has made the original Divorce in Missouri so popular and respected by everyone. This easy to read and understand book explains the divorce laws of the Show-Me State and suggests strategies that can result in a successful settlement. It now includes information on how divorce can affect non-US citizen permanent residents. This is not a book that generally covers divorce for all 50 states. It gives clear and detailed information only about the things a Missourian considering a divorce needs to know. Every page is focused just on the laws, processes and likely judgments by a Missouri court if a settlement cannot be reached. Table of Contents Introduction Authors' Note Chapters: 1. Grounds for Divorce, 2. Missouri's Divorce Process, 3. Finding and Using a Lawyer, 4. Mediation, 5. Collaborative Divorce, 6. Legal and Physical Custody, 7. Child Support, 8. The Status of Children, 9. Grandparental Rights, 10. Maintenance, 11. Property Distribution, 12. Property Issues, and Considerations, 13. Determining Income, 14. Divorce Strategies and Issues, 15. The Perils of Living Together, Appendix: Summary of Missouri's Divorce Process, Diagram of Missouri's Process, Things to Bring to Your Lawyer, Things to Do After Your Divorce, Telephone, Computer, Social Media, Divorce Issues for Non-US Citizens, Index, Meet the Authors.
